Wholesale Pli-Gard Plywood

Pli-Gard

The industrial grade Pli-Gard used in exterior/interior applications. Raging from sub-flooring to internal parts within furniture. As you can see, it has a light salmon color and has a variety of deep toned mineral stains. Its roughly sanded and saw marks are common.

Due to its redeeming strength (All Pli-Gard grades are 125% harder than Red Oak) Pli-Gard may be used for interior finishing such as beams, rafters/joists, wooden planks, doors, frames, sub flooring, furniture and more.

Ultra Pli-Gard

This is a furniture grade plywood that has very few blemishes and small sporadic filled knots. It is smoothly sanded and has a tight interlocking grain. Its appearance is similar to white oak.

Its cost is very comparable to birch, its strength out performs oak and its high density makes it a heavy, sturdy plywood.

Pli-Gard Elite

Elite for many reasons! Its premium clear veneer and practically void free core are becoming a standard among some of the nations top furniture manufacturers.

Like the Ultra Pli-Gard, the Elite is smoothly sanded and takes an excellent stain finish.

Cost

Perhaps one of the most important questions. The Pli-Gard family of plywoods are generally offered for 12% to 17% less than most common hardwood plywoods on the market today!

So if you're looking for a more cost effective substitute to oak or birch, you may want to consider Pli-Gard.

Pli-Gard Properties

Pli-Gard is moderately difficult to saw and machine largely because of its high density and because of the interlocked grain. Except in planing, it can be machined to a smooth surface. Pli-Gard has high shock resistant quality which makes it durable when used in commercial applications. It is easy to glue and finish. Steam-bending properties are comparable to white oak. Pli-Gard sands and finishes very well and easily. Polishing can create a wonderful luster.

Laboratory evaluations rate the wood very resistant to brown-rot and white-rot fungi; actual field exposure trials also are the wood as very durable. Its also rated very resistant to dry-wood termites but offers little resistance to marine borers.

Appearance: Color: sapwood is gray-white; heartwood is salmon red to orange-brown when fresh, and becomes russet or reddish brown when seasoned; often marked with dark streaks.
